A Name Everyone Knows at Temple

In food and beverage everyone dreams about who they would love to meet and wait on at some point or another, especially bartenders.  Well, that dream came true for one of the bartenders at Temple, Mike Almeida, when John Ratzenberger sat at his bar recently.  Ratzenberger is probably known best for his role as Cliff Clavin, the mail carrying patron from the popular show Cheers.  “I was blown away when he walked in the door,” said Mike.  “I absolutely loved that show and always dreamed of serving him.”  Ratzenberger said he was in town for the Providence College graduation where he was the keynote speaker.  Mike said that he was extremely cordial and down to earth and “even bummed a few cigarettes off me.”  He enjoyed his cocktails and conversation and retired to his room to rest for the graduation.

Mike and the rest of the bar staff at Temple are diligently working on a new summer cocktail list that should be out next week.  It includes cocktails with new infusions that they are working on including ginger lemongrass vodka and a pomegranate infused bourbon.  New drinks include The Providence Manhattan with pomegranate infused bourbon, Italian vermouth and cherry bitters and the I really love your peaches with Ketel one vodka, white peach puree, white grape juice, and Prosecco.
